5 Ways to Pay for School

Ultrasound technician training can be expensive, but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t go to school. These training programs might require an upfront investment, but the training you receive often results in a demanded, high paying job down the road. There are ways to get money for school.

Scholarships

Scholarships are a great way to pay for ultrasound technician training. Some schools offer scholarship programs to their students. Other times you can find scholarships through private members of your community or through businesses.

Ask your ultrasound technician training program if scholarships are available. Also ask if they know of any private scholarship programs that you might qualify for. You might be pleasantly surprised!

Grants

Grants are another way to pay for school. Unlike scholarships, grants are conditional on income, not educational performance, and are a great option for those with low income.

Loans

Pay as you go programs are a little different than loans since your school may or may not charge interest. You may be able pay for each class one at a time and completely avoid finance charges. This is a great option for working students that can afford to make payments toward their education.

Employer Training

If you are lucky you may be able to find an employer that will help you to pay for your ultrasound technician training. Some employers offer in-house training programs and others will help pay for classes offered by an ultrasound technician school. When an employer pays for training the student will typically have to promise to work for the employer for a period of time after the training is complete. These programs can be difficult to find, but they are a great way to pay for school if they are available.
